The XC is the flattest-shooting gun Staccato builds — one-piece island comp barrel, full-length dust cover, 2.5lb trigger, optic-ready slide. Atlas took it further. The Alpha conversion replaces the factory polymer grip with 7075 aluminum, adds a DLC steel beavertail and DLC mag release, and an aluminum mainspring housing with matching delta pattern. The aggressive-texture step-up left panel and aggressive right panel are upgrades over the flush panels the kit ships with — more purchase under recoil and a higher support-hand index. The tuned and polished ignition is the work that separates a good 2011 from a match gun. The Alpha kit is $995 on its own and Atlas is explicit that it is not drop-in — professional gunsmith fitting required. Building this yourself means a 60 to 90 day wait on the base gun from Staccato, then shipping it out for conversion, fitting, and panel selection, then waiting again. You're near $6,000 and several months out before you fire a round. Note: the Alpha conversion deletes the grip safety function. That's the point for competition and range use, but worth knowing if you specifically want a functional grip safety. Optic-ready slide accepts RMR, SRO, RMR HD, RCR, DeltaPoint Pro, and Holosun footprints. Optic not included. Done, fitted, and shooting. No queue, no gunsmith turnaround.
